Another university in Kentucky has launched a request for proposals(RFP) for a student accommodation project under a P3 model

The University of Louisville has become the latest to seek private developers to deliver a multi-phased housing program that could ultimately deliver significant new residential capacity.

While the ultimate scope of the project remains under consideration, the first phase is expected to focus on the delivery of up to approximately 1,000 new apartment- and suite-style beds.

Interested parties have until August 11, 2026, to submit written questions, and Stage 1 responses to the RFP are due on August 28. The university expects to shortlist two-to-four teams following Stage 1 submissions.

The engagement follows B&D’s recent successful financial close on two other projects in the commonwealth of Kentucky – the University of Kentucky Central Utility Plant P3 and the Western Kentucky University student housing P3.

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
