A notice of intent has been issued by the university to award the project to 865 Neyland Project Team, a group led by broker and realtor, Dixon Greenwood, along with Jake Miller, Taylor Gray, the Hartland Hotel Group, and Johnson Architecture.
“The development team understood our vision and designed a legacy asset that will significantly impact our campus and overall community,” said vice chancellor and director of athletics at UT, Danny White.
The project involves an entertainment district spanning nearly 175,000sq ft, replacement and additional parking facilities, plus a hotel. It aims to significantly enhance the area around the Neyland Stadium and Food City Center.
Final approval from the Tennessee State Building Commission is now required before the project can continue its progress.
Brailsford & Dunlavey is serving as UT’s development advisor on the project.
