Mr. Thomas serves as a senior consultant in B&D’s Higher Education Sphere. Prior to joining B&D, he worked for 37 years in higher education, serving in a variety of roles at six different institutions focused on student union management, auxiliary oversight, outsourced services, student involvement and activities, emergency operations, and residence hall administration. His previous experience includes serving as the Director of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Student Union, as well as the Executive Director of Northwestern University’s Norris Center and Student Auxiliary Services.

Mr. Thomas’ first experience in higher education administration came as an undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin-Platteville when he was hired as a building manager in their student center. The building manager role grounded him in the value of student employment as a high-impact practice for students and the importance of placing positive student impact at the center of decision-making for leaders in higher education. He has also worked with the National Association of College Auxiliary Services (NACAS), the Association of College Unions International (ACUI), and the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) throughout his career.
