Monterey Peninsula College's Library and Technology Center completes major renovation

Construction is officially complete at Monterey Peninsula College’s Library Technology Center (LTC), marking the close of a multi-phase renovation that redefines what a modern academic hub can be. Located on California’s central coast, the College serves a diverse student population across the Monterey Peninsula region.

The revitalized facility is a bold expression of the College’s mission: expanding access, championing equity, and creating spaces that support student success. From updated infrastructure to reimagined academic support spaces, the renovation touches nearly every corner of the LTC.

Students returning to campus in spring 2025 experienced an expanded network of academic resources, including a larger Tutoring and Academic Success Center, a new Math Learning Center, enhanced Reading & Writing and STEM cohort spaces, and a second-floor testing lab. Redesigned student service areas also bring new energy and functionality to the building.

The renovation unfolded in multiple phases to maintain occupancy during construction, following earlier upgrades like a new roof, improved HVAC systems, and a refreshed LTC Café.

“It’s been incredibly rewarding to help bring this project to life,” said Cody Carpino, Director with Brailsford & Dunlavey. “This renovation is going to make a real difference for students, and we’re proud to have delivered on Monterey Peninsula College’s vision.”

The doors are officially open—and with them, a new era for the LTC as a vibrant, student-centered cornerstone of campus life.

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
