Building momentum: Lincoln University invests big in student life

October 22, 2025

PROJECT SPOTLIGHT

The university to open new residence hall in Fall 2026

At Lincoln University (Lincoln University, Pa.), the nation’s first degree-granting Historically Black College and University (HBCU), history and progress are inseparable. From its hilltop campus in Pennsylvania, Lincoln continues to set the standard for what a transformative education can be: one that empowers students to lead, connect, and thrive.

That spirit of transformation is now shaping the built environment. The University has launched an ambitious investment in student life: a new 322-bed, 94,000-square-foot residence hall designed to foster belonging, community, and success.  Every detail—from budget alignment to construction quality—is driven by a shared vision for a more vibrant, student-centered campus.

A vision rooted in the student experience

Lincoln’s new residence hall is more than a housing project—it’s a declaration of purpose. The university recognizes that modern, well-designed residential spaces are essential to engagement, wellness, and academic success.

Set to open in Fall 2026, the new facility will feature apartment-style living that balances independence with connection. Flexible community areas and study spaces will encourage collaboration and community-building, while sustainable infrastructure—including implementing a geothermal solution for heating and cooling—will support the University’s long-term operational and climate goals.

Learn. Liberate. Lead.

When doors open in 2026, the new residence hall will enhance student living at Lincoln University. Students will enjoy modern spaces built for comfort, connection and success, while the campus itself gains a dynamic new anchor—one that embodies the University’s enduring legacy and forward momentum.

B&D on site: seeing transformation in action

On Thursday, October 9, members of the B&D team visited the construction site to see the progress firsthand. It was inspiring to witness the University’s vision taking shape and to connect with the partners bringing it to life. The team left energized by the momentum on campus and proud to be contributing to a project that will enrich generations of Lincoln students.

For B&D, this is another example of how thoughtful planning and disciplined implementation create long-term value for institutions and the students they serve.

"The leadership and information from B&D, and the clarity with which they provide it, brings added credibility to the process and ensures that a range of university stakeholders, including senior leadership and our board, are fully informed for – and confident in – their required decision making.”
