San José,

Student Union And Recreation Feasibility Analysis

San Jose State University Student Union, Inc. selected B&D in 2001 to perform a feasibility study of its student union and sports club/aquatics center for potential expansion and renovation. Our scope of work included a review of existing drawings and site plans, an Internet survey of students, focus groups, a peer school analysis, and a financial analysis. The existing facilities were identified as assets to the university, playing a role in the ongoing development of the university’s campus community. We recommended an extensive renovation to the union to contemporize it and make it a landmark, and renovation and expansion of the sports club/aquatic center to add activity space. A $91 million renovation and expansion of the union will be completed in 2013.
