Student Recreation Feasibility Analysis

Arizona State University West recognized that it had become a traditional institution and thus needed to provide “quality of life” facilities to include a recreation center. In 2003, the university asked B&D for a market analysis of peer institutions, concept development focus groups, student surveys, and the development of an outline program to define its need. Along with that work, we provided a financial analysis to propose a funding strategy for the project, and analyzed the proposed building site for its capacity. Our studies showed that a new $12.8 million, 55,000 SF recreation center would address the university’s needs and could be supported with a $90 per semester recreation fee.
