CLIENT OPPORTUNITY

  • Explore resolving deferred maintenance issues and unmet student housing market demand with mixed-use campus-edge projects
  • Determine feasibility of using a P3 model to finance the developments and evaluate appropriate options and private sector partners

B&D PROCESS

  • Provided research and analysis that formed the basis of the university’s 10-year strategic housing master plan
  • Defined two P3 initiatives that resulted from the master plan
  • Assisted with procurement of third-party development partners through competitive processes that included issuance of RFQ/RFP documents and interviews with short-list interested parties
  • Acted in an oversight role that led to  two projects opening on time and on budget

PROJECT HIGHLIGHTS

  • $500 million South and West Campus projects delivered through a P3 process
  • 3,700 new on-campus beds added
  • Ten-year master housing plan included $191 million for deferred maintenance issues, 1,174 new on-campus beds, and $6.2 million for renovation of two existing student housing facilities
