Student Housing/ Dining Master Plan and Rental Rate Assessment

CLIENT CHALLENGE

  • Increase first-year student enrollment and entice sophomores and juniors to live on campus
  • Define implementation strategies to affect needed developments, including a public-private partnership

B&D SOLUTION

  • Led a Strategic Asset Value analysis which allowed the university to define and prioritize mission-based project goals
  • Conducted student focus groups and built financial models that informed five development scenarios addressing deferred maintenance, demolition of existing structures, and new construction
  • Provided strategic guidance through the university’s Cross Center project, a 1,200 bed mixed-use development delivered through a P3 model

  • Additional three on-campus residential towers developed via P3 financing
