Student Housing And Dining Planning Support Services

In 2004 Cleveland State University was pursuing the development of new student housing as well as the renovation of an existing on-campus residence facility. The university retained B&D’s services to provide housing and dining planning support services and advise on how best to reposition campus dining in light of impending significant housing additions and improvements. Our support services included an analysis of existing conditions, a campus housing reconciliation of supply with demand, and a preliminary detailed financial analysis. In addition, working with Institutional Project Management, we were responsible for reviewing housing proposals and contracts, and for strengthening the university’s position as it entered into these agreements. As a result, the 438-bed Fenn Tower ($30 million) was built in 2006, while the 600-bed Euclid Commons ($57 million) was built in two phases and was completed in 2011.
