Stadium Feasibility Study

In 1999, the City of Allentown, Pennsylvania was considering the conversion of an existing high school field into a dual-use facility that would include a minor league component. The city administrators asked B&D to conduct a detailed market analysis to test the feasibility of this project. Our work included research into the city’s ability to attract a minor league soccer team, funding needs analysis, meetings with promoters, and studying the feasibility of augmenting stadium use with other activities—such as lacrosse or band competitions. Based on our recommendations, Allentown made $3.58 million in renovations to J. Birney Crum Stadium in July of 2000.
