Sports And Event Center Strategic Plan

In 2008 Central Washington University wanted a strategic plan for a new sports and event center on campus. B&D was hired to complete this work and we conducted a market analysis, primary market interviews, programming, and a financial analysis. Key to this work was establishing a comparable market context and evaluating the Ellensburg market position within that framework. We worked with the university to develop program option strategies and each was advanced to address the needs of current and potential users; adhere to the university’s objectives; leverage past improvements; respond to the Ellensburg market; and maintain the functionality of the athletic campus. For each concept, the final program consisted of a 148,827 SF facility. Finally, we assembled a financial analysis that quantified revenue to be generated by the proposed center and this assessment measured the capacity of those revenue streams to meet the building’s operating requirements.
