School Site Assessment Reviews

B&D was contracted in 2015 to provide reviews and facility condition assessment updates to the Antioch Unified School District’s 2008 master plan. The first phase of our work entailed reviewing the overall master plan and the progress of work completed to date. The second phase included verifying the updated work through site walks, documentation review, and personal interviews with site administrators. The third and final phase included producing facility condition assessment updates, which detailed completed bond capital improvement projects to each school site, including:

• All site work
• ADA compliance projects
• Equipment upgrades and enhancements
• Structural repairs and facility replacement projects
• Replacement of portable facilities with permanent spaces
• All related planning and implementation work

School capacity and utilization factors were verified and addressed, allowing the district to complete the 2008 master plan and allocate funds remaining from its $66.1 million bond program. This work provided the foundation for the district to begin a new long-range facilities plan that would be the vehicle for the district to seek approval for a November 2016 capital facilities bond.
