Engineering and Aviation Sciences Building and Pharmacy and Health Professions Building Fundraising Plan and Development Support

The University of Maryland, Eastern Shore, engaged Brailsford & Dunlavey in the spring of 2016 to research and analyze methods of implementing a multi-million dollar fundraising campaign in support of improvements to its engineering and aviation sciences, and pharmacy and health professions buildings and programs. Specifically, it sought to understand how best to execute a campaign that would put the two schools―and the entire University―on a more sustainable financial path and produce stronger programs and higher performing students and alumni.

Working closely with University stakeholders, B&D developed a plan for this effort that included:

• Research and analysis of the functional and operational challenges associated with accreditation and the development of academic programs
• A value estimation of the collateral inventory required to address those challenges
• A marketing strategy to ensure a comprehensive outreach effort
• Benchmarking of peer private schools that made successful fundraising commitments

The results of B&D’s analysis provided the University with recommended next steps that outlined the specific range of activities needed to reach the fundraising outcomes expected.
