Congress Heights Recreation Center And Playground Program Management

In 2009 the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation, through the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization, needed program management and project oversight services for the renovation of, and addition to, numerous community recreation centers, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds. B&D was retained for these services, and the work was completed using the design-build delivery method. With the existing outdated space having become a safety hazard, the Congress Heights Recreation and Playground project includes a new playground, landscaping, three employee parking spaces, a new basketball court, a half basketball court, and a native hillside garden with climbing boulders. In addition, the existing tennis will be resurfaced, while new fencing and lighting will be installed.
