Conference Center Feasibility Analysis

Bridgeport’s redevelopment plan included a baseball stadium and an indoor hockey arena, both of which had already been built with the guidance of B&D. Now the city wanted a conference center in its downtown area and asked us once again to assist. We provided market, financial, and economic analyses to determine the demand for the facility. Our demographic studies and surveys outlined the specific types of conference users within the Southern Fairfield County/Hartford corridor and we provided the city with a detailed financial model and architectural program. In addition, our economic impact analysis quantified the impacts the construction of the conference center would have on the local and state tax revenues and economy. Based on our findings and recommendations, the city proposed the project to the State of Connecticut, and the state was then willing to make a contribution to finance the development of the proposed facility.
