Community Recreation Center Feasibility Analysis, Needs Analysis, And Financial Analysis

B&D was retained in 1999 as part of a design team to complete a feasibility assessment and needs analysis for a proposed expansion of the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center in Leesburg, Virginia. An expansion project had begun in response to the success of the existing center, rapid growth in the region, and community demand for more indoor recreation facilities at Ida Lee Park. We completed a market analysis, the development of an architectural program for facility expansion, and a financial and operational analysis. We presented two alternatives and performed a separate financial analysis for each. Ultimately, both were chosen and construction of the $9 million project began in 2001. Nearly doubling its size, the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center expansion project was completed in 2002.
