Campus Dining Vendor Selection Assistance

Rutgers University-Newark recognized that campus dining plays a critical role in building a positive community environment and wanted to take its dining services and offerings to the next level in its upcoming dining master plan. To that end, the University engaged Brailsford & Dunlavey in the spring of 2016 to assist in preparing a campus dining operations RFP, which would ultimately choose a vendor that best met the University’s immediate and long-term dining needs.

B&D’s work plan for this project included establishing program objectives and developing an RFP document. B&D then assisted the University with clarifying questions posed by the bidders, evaluating and scoring the subsequent proposal submissions, and compiling a technical comparison of the bidders’ financial and operational qualifications. All of this analysis led to successful identification of a foodservice vendor.

B&D guided the University through vendor contract negotiations and the transition of the account to a new vendor, ultimately leading to achievement of the program objectives and charting the course to improved campus dining.
