Banneker Park Program Management

In 2009, the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation, through the Office of Public Education Facilities In 2009 the District of Columbia Department of Parks and Recreation, through the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization, needed program management and project oversight services for the renovation of, and addition to, numerous community recreation centers, athletic fields, parks, and playgrounds. B&D was retained for these services, and the work was completed using the design-build delivery method. The Banneker Park project consists of the modernization of the existing park at Banneker Recreation Center, including the removal of the existing playground area and the installation of new play equipment, a skate plaza, poured-in-place safety surface, fencing, re-grading/drainage, landscaping, concrete sidewalks, and stairs. The project will be completed in the summer of 2013.
