Athletics Facility FF&E Selection Services

In 2008 Brooklyn College was building its West Quad Building to house all campus athletic, recreation, and physical education spaces, along with a wide range of offices for student services. The college needed help with the FF&E plan for the athletic portion of the facility and engaged B&D’s assistance. We worked with college administration and the architects to put together a thorough plan that included not only FF&E but also a verification of accommodations for power, ventilation, drainage, and vertical/horizontal clearances. Throughout this project we identified numerous issues whose resolutions positively impacted the FF&E selection process. The end result was a comprehensive FF&E breakdown highlighting unique features for more than 50 products, as well as proposed layouts for various equipment groupings. The 145,000 SF, $120 million West Quad Building opened in the fall of 2009.
