Athletic, Health, And Wellness Center Detailed Program Document, Ff&e, And Design And Construction Support

In 2002, as part of its strategic plan, Dana Hall School wanted a comprehensive programming study and architectural design for a new Athletic, Health, and Wellness Center. The proposed center was to be located in such a way as to encourage a healthy balance in the students’ lives, support relationship-building, and increase activities in general. B&D was retained for this study and our work included: an evaluation of existing facilities, focus group interviews, development of building concept options, a site analysis, detailed programming, and design review. B&D also served as athletics consultant through the entire design and construction process. The 94,555 SF, $21.9 million Shipley Center opened in the fall of 2005, receiving a “Facility of Merit” award by Athletic Business magazine.
