Athletic Center Programming

B&D was engaged by Princeton Day School in 2012 to assist in the programming of a new Athletic Center and to perform a campus-wide space utilization analysis. Through visioning sessions, user group interviews, a careful examination of both peer and aspirant schools, and a schedule utilization analysis, we developed an outline program and data sheets for spaces in a new Athletic Center, including tennis courts, a new lobby for the existing ice rink facility, and an indoor training facility that would provide wood courts, multipurpose rooms, fencing facilities, squash courts, an erg room, and appropriate support spaces including a locker room, trainer’s office, and spectator accommodations. We also recommended additional classroom and lab spaces, additional faculty offices, and the repositioning of specialty programs to better align with the vision and mission of the school.
