Aquatic Facilities Master Plan

The City of Alexandria was in need of a master plan for its aquatics program, since most of its existing facilities were reaching the end of their functional life expectancy. Some had already been closed due to lack of attendance and most had limited opportunities for expansion and/or limited parking. B&D was enlisted to confirm their needs, verify the types and quantity of facilities needed, evaluate appropriate locations, and determine the financial impact on the City for the next 30 years. Our work mapped out other area providers within a 25 mile radius and included data on admission costs, date opened, location and type of facility. We also provided research on community composition, weather analysis and economic considerations that could affect the project’s viability.
